As bizarre as it may seem, Zim has reintroduced coins. The entire country is abuzz (or a-jingle), because remember that we have not used them in at least ten, maybe fifteen years... There is a whole generation that doesn't know that you can use coins to BUY things, rather than as a toy or pretty accessory. What's even more bizarre is that yesterday the Zimbabwe dollar was trading at ZD1,500,000,000,000 to 100 rand (-here, it only makes sense to speak in multiples of 100); today it's trading at just ZD150 to R100. Bizarre!
So of course everyone went scrounging through their old bags and garages and such (even flowerpots, apparently- a whole another story), and then promptly went shopping...
