I went to the City Hall this afternoon out of curiosity. Word had gone round that Mr Tsvangirai would be holding a meeting there, but no one knew what it was about. I got there late, but before he got up to speak, so got to hear what he had to say. Essentially, he wanted to thank the residents of Bulawayo for voting for the MDC-T, and to lay out the plan for the next five years. There were more than a few barbs about the verbal attacks he's suffered lately.... But the crowd was enthusiastically on his side, so maybe that was more for the papers, lol. It was really interesting, and fascinating to see how passionate MDC-T supporters are. I was also struck by how charismatic Mr Tsvangirai is (first time I'd heard him in person). Ms Khuphe and Mr Chamisa are also crowd- pleasers :) Mr Biti wasn't there, but there were many other party functionaries present.
Below, some rather poor (sorry! Was using only an old phone camera) images of the packed out Large City Hall, and the crowd waving goodbye to him as he left. Pretty impressive for a meeting that seemed not to have been advertised beforehand.
