more pix of melbourne.

Posted by shonatiger

one of the cute cottages you find in inner city melb..

melb has, like other cities, what is called a graffiti problem. i know tagging is ugly, but some graffiti is absolutely beautiful. i love it.. this is council-sanctioned, at a nearby park.

flinders street station, at night. it's a gorgeous old building, one of my fav things to photograph in melb.

again...

melb, a view from the shrine, a world war 1 memorial, below..

the shrine. very solemn place. at the lower right corner is the eternal (perpetual? dunno) flame, part of the second world war memorial.

cloudy, but no rain. Oz is in the middle of a long and very bad drought.. even melb by the sea has a water crisis...

at st kilda (man-made) beach...

at the entrance to the luna park (amusement park). i would be terrified to go in- well warned at the gate i'd say.. but anyway..

the yarra river winds thru melb.. lovely parks built around it, and it just gives the city so much character! also gives people stuff to do at the weekend..

a wedding in the park. gay marriage is "illegal" in victoria (if you didn't know, Oz is a federation, and vic is a state).

visited planetshakers church- great place!

close encounters.. at the aquarium.

went in search of nemo, found jellyfish. apparently Oz has some seriously poisonous ones, too..

urban decay. i like it...

southern cross station. i love trains, so i take lots of pix of them and stations..

backyard. Oz is so hard to photograph (esp if yr an amateur, comme moi), it's a land of harsh light and deep shadow... but occasionally you can actually take photos and not need to edit them too much.. and see color in them too.

Magnificent photos my friend. I really like your perspective in your photos! Definite talent there! Esp. the 'urban decay', architecture & the rocking horse ones. Also beautiful jellyfish photo. Inspiring! I have never seen one yet though I hear the aquarium in Vancouver now has them. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into this beautiful country you are visiting!!

You poor girl - you have just been tagged by me for a meme. You'll see what I want in my blog. Don't feel obligated cuz I know they are time consuming but fun. It took me over a week to formulate mine & still have it go with a Proverbs theme.
